The sunflower is a plant endowed with fascinating beauty. Its bright colors and flowering even inspired the famous painter Van Gogh.
This flower represents summer heat and sunlight.

This socks are knit from the cuff down. It begins with a tubular cast on and a ribbed cuff. The leg is knitted with a floral colorwork pattern. Then the heel flap and the gusset are knitted back and forth. Finally, the toe is worked in the round and finished with Kitchener stitch.
If you are more comfortable knitting with only two colors, you can adapt the pattern by knitting all ithe interior of the sunflowers in the same color as that used for the background.

SIZING
To determine the size to knit, measure the circumference of the leg above the ankle:
• Size S correspond to a leg circumference of 18 to 20 cm ;
• Size M correspond to a leg circumference of 21 to 24 cm ;
• Size L correspond to a leg corcumference of 25 to 28 cm ;

Leg and foot length can be easely adjusted.

30 sts x 42 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette stitch.

Le tournesol est une fleur dotée d’une beauté fascinante. Ses couleurs vives et sa floraison ont même inspiré le célèbre peintre Van Gogh. Cette fleur représente à elle-même la chaleur estivale et la lumière du soleil.

Cette paire de chaussettes se tricote en rond de haut en bas, du mollet vers les orteils. Elle se débute avec un montage tubulaire et des côtes 2/2. La jambe se tricote en point de jacquard pour former un motif floral. Le talon en jersey se tricote en allers-retours. Puis le pied est de nouveau tricoté en circulaire. Enfin, la pointe est refermée par un grafting.
Si vous redoutez le jacquard à 4 couleurs, le motif peut être simplifié pour qu’il s’adapte à l’utilisation de deux couleurs seulement. Il suffira alors de tricoter tout l’intérieur des tournesols dans le même coloris que celui utilisé pour le fond.

TAILLES
Pour déterminer la taille à tricoter, il faut mesurer le tour de jambe au-dessus de la cheville :
• La taille S correspond à un tour de jambe de 18 à 20 cm ;
• La taille M correspond à un tour de jambe de 21 à 24 cm ;
• La taille L correspond à un tour de jambe de 25 à 28 cm ;
Les chaussettes présentées en photo ont été tricotées en taille M. La longueur du pied et de la tige peut facilement être adaptée.
