Sunflower Hotpad
The first in a series of knitted flowers, with a useful purpose, for the home. This Sunflower Hot Pad/Trivet will add a burst of sunshine to your table, while protecting surfaces from hot dishes, teapots and pans.
Each Petal takes approximately 6 grams of yarn, the front center approximately 26 grams, and the backing approximately 7 grams.
Wool or Cotton yarns are suggested if used as a hot pad to protect a table or countertop surfaces from hot items.
Sunflowers come in many different colors, from soft yellow to brilliant magenta, pick colors to fit your décor.
To save paper and printer ink, information and tutorial pages 1-5 do not need to be printed. Pattern commences on page 6.
Includes instructions for an optional layer of batting between the front and the back for additional insulation.
Gauges:
Garter St: 16 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)
Trinity St: 22 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches (10cm)
St St: 22 sts and 28 rows + 4 inches (10cm)
