Sunflower Motif Afghan
So often when I see crochet Afghans, they are big, bulky, heavy, and let’s be honest, very time consuming! I wanted to create something that would be simple, lacy, and floral. After all, that is the joy of crochet!
This blanket is made up almost entirely of large motifs that are joined as you go. The motifs themselves are fairly fast and easy to make - the most complicated part is just the joining. As this project involves making quite a few motifs, I recommend this pattern for crocheters who have worked with motifs before. There are a few stitches that may be new to beginners, so I included a stitch index to explain how to make all stitches that are not basic.
The PDF file that comes with this listing is an 8 page illustrated pattern. The pattern includes:
• step-by-step instructions for each row and joins
• a photo for every step
• hook and yarn weight suggestions
• gauge information
• sizing recommendations for throws, twin, and queen blankets
• stitch abbreviations
• stitch index to explain how to make more detailed stitches
As with all of my patterns, I don’t believe that once you buy this you are on your own. I welcome you to send me a message if you get stuck, see an area I could improve, or just want to share a photo of your creation.
Enjoy, and happy crocheting!
