Summer is here and what says “summer” more than flowers? Well, quite a few things, actually, but flowers are definitely among them! So grab your hooks and yarn and get to making your own little Sunkern to introduce summer!

Materials
To make Sunkern you will need:
– A 2.5mm crochet hook
– Yellow and green yarn
– A tapestry needle and scissors
– Stuffing
– Safety eyes
– Felting supplies and wool in brown for the stripes and pink for the mouth
– Black thread for the eyes and mouth
– A stitch marker to help you keep track of the start of the round; and I also recommend pins
– I recommend some pipe cleaner to help hold up the stem
Please note that you can make Sunkern using any size crochet hook and yarn weight for a smaller or bigger result. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook, Sunkern should be about 20cm tall.

Stitches & Abbreviations
The pattern is written using US crochet terms in continuous spirals. You will need to know the following kinds of stitches to make him:
– Magic Ring (MR)
– Single crochet (sc)
– Decrease (dec); preferably using the invisible decrease method
– Increase (inc)
