Sunkissed Sea Tee
SUNKISSED SEA is inspired by warm, breezy summer evenings at the beach. I imagine wearing this tee sitting by a small fire watching the sun slowly disappearing into the deep blue-green ocean.
Made from a merino and silk blend yarn, SUNKISSED SEA has a lovely shine and a wonderful luxurious feel to it. The fabric is super soft against the skin and has the lovely texture that is typical for linen stitch.
This pattern includes instructions for both a straight body and a body with subtle waist shaping for you to choose according to your preference.
I hope you will love this project just as much as I did! Happy knitting!
This pattern went through tech editing and test knitting. I was not able to find testers for the sizes 2XS, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL though. If you are interested in testing one of these sizes, please send me a message.
SIZES
2XS (XS, S, M) (L, XL, 2XL) (3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
with bust circumference of finished garment:
77 (84.5, 93, 100.5) (108.5, 117, 124.5) (133, 141, 148.5) cm
30.25 (33.25, 36.5, 39.5) (42.75, 46, 49) (52.25, 55.5, 58.5) “
CHOOSING A SIZE
SUNKISSED SEA is intended to be worn with 3-5cm / 1.25-2” of positive ease around the bust. This means that the garment is supposed to be 3-5cm / 1.25-2” larger than your bust circumference.
Example: Your bust circumference is 95cm / 37.5”. Then you should choose size M. Pictured is a size M on a 95cm / 37.5” bust with 4.5cm / 1.75” of positive ease around the bust.
YARN
ggh Lacy (25g, 150m / 164yds, 80% wool, 20% silk)
Color A: 1 (1, 2, 2) (3, 3, 3) (3, 4, 4) skein(s) in colorway 27 (Marsrot)
Color B: 1 (1, 1, 2) (2, 2, 2) (2, 3, 3) skein(s) in colorway 22 (Türkis)
Color C: 3 (3, 4, 4) (4, 5, 5) (6, 7, 8) skeins in colorway 25 (Petrol)
Please note that these values are only estimates. Changes in yarn or gauge as well as changes of the pattern can result in a different yardage.
GAUGE
29 sts and 56 rounds = 10cm / 4” in Linen stitch after blocking.
NEEDLES
5mm needles (or size to obtain gauge with) and 3mm needles
Please note: This needle size is much larger than the needle size I
would use for this yarn if I were working Stockinette stitch. You might be tempted you use a smaller needle, but I would advice against that. Linen stitch creates a very dense fabric and if you use a too small needle, the fabric will loose its drape.
TOOLS
A tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in the ends, 3 stitch
markers.
