Sunny Days
Warm spring days aren’t usually associated with wool socks, but there’s no reason they can’t be! Wool is great for temperature regulation, and when paired with bright colours these Sunny Day socks are perfect for drinking iced tea in the backyard or on the front porch. Decorated in simple eyelet lace, the socks are enhanced with a faux cable ribbed cuff and alternating colours.
Sizes
There are four sizes in the pattern: 1 (18cm foot circumference); 2 (20cm foot circumference); 3 (22.5cm foot circumference); and 4 (25cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.
Yarn and Yardage
This pattern features a contrasting heel, toe, and cuff. Knit two of the same sock, or one of each for an extra quirky vibe! The total yardage is approx. 160 - 300 yards, or 80 - 150 yards is knitting one in each colour.
Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), stitch markers, darning needle, and sock blockers.
Techniques
This pattern is suitable for knitters who are familiar with cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction. The cables on the cuff are faux cables, so no knowledge of cabling is needed. The eyelet lace and the faux cables are both written and charted.
