Sunny Days Pillow
My Sunny Days pillow is composed of 3D sun granny squares. After I made a sun garland a while ago, I thought it would be fun to make a pillow version! I have seen many crocheters add eyes to their work, so I decided to give it a try with this pillow. I like how they make the suns look happy! The eyes are stitched on them with embroidery thread, but you can play around with different faces or leave the eyes off if you would like. The back of the pillow is simply a large light green traditional granny square. Five buttons hold the bottom of the pillow together and allow it to be taken on and off of the insert.
I used Cascade Ultra Pima yarn in the following shades: 1 natural, 1 sunshine, 1 veiled rose, 1 coral cloud, 1 white peach, and 1 celery. However, any DK weight yarn will work! You will also need a 14 by 14 inch (35 by 35 cm) square pillow insert and five buttons (1.5 cm in diameter). The written pattern includes some pictures to explain the steps. I hope you enjoy the pattern and let me know if you have any questions!
