Looking for a fun and easy crochet diaper cover pattern? Check out this pattern using bulky weight yarn.

I wanted to make a quick and cute original pattern that could be completed by someone with only basic crochet knowledge, so I used only basic crochet stitches for this pattern.

The ribbing is created by using single crochet in the back loop only and the body of the diaper cover is basic single crochet.

This makes an excellent DIY baby shower gift!

You can use any medium worsted weight yarn (weight #4) for this crochet pattern that you like, but I would steer clear of any rough yarns as they can come into contact with sensitive baby skin. Same of wool yarn, as some people are allergic to wool and it’s best to make your baby diaper cover out of another fiber.

For me, a premium acrylic or even a nice cotton yarn would be the best choices for this pattern. I used Paintbox Yarns for this pattern which is a premium acrylic yarn. Easy care and easy on the pocketbook!

This pattern begins at the front, with the ribbing worked side to side. Then the body of the diaper cover is worked across the long edge.

This pattern uses basic decreases and increases to shape the crotch area, then the back ribbing is worked across the top of the body. The button holes are created by skipping stitches and chaining
