Sunny Halter
A double layer vest using fingering weight yarn, one layer is knit bottom up with a decorative hem, racer back and halter neck; the other layer is knit top-down with raglan short sleeves. Layers are joined at the underarm and neck.
This slipover vest is suited to many body shapes including lollipop, column, pear and apple silhouettes. You could even do a maternity version. If you have broad shoulders, you can use a darker colour across the shoulders and lighter colour for the halter neck drawing the focus towards the centre. It’s an ideal way to feature a couple of skeins of hand dyed or hand painted yarn with a less expensive option as the outer layer. Wear it with a long-sleeved t-shirt or blouse with floaty, transparent sleeves. The layers look lightweight yet, added together they are deceptively warm, particularly across the chest. Knit in a wool bend (wool/cotton, wool/linen, wool/hemp) or yarns that are soft on the skin to wear on its own.
There is only one basic chart for the hem accompanied by full written instructions.
This is a fun, unique style which is super comfortable and easy to wear. There are additional Fitting Notes if you like to customise the size or shape. The schematic diagram comes with a full measurements chart for all sizes along with a glossary and list of abbreviations. The pattern has been professionally tech edited to give you assurance of a more accurate pattern.
