Light and airy, a great beginner lace project that is simple to memorize and quick to finish. Treat yourself to a bit of luxury with an elegant crochet Sunny Lace Cowl. Made with one hank of yarn, it makes a great gift for your loved ones.
As simple to crochet, as it is to wear. It’s great crochet design for your first laceweight project.
Materials & Tools:
- Yarn Malabrigo Yarn Lace 50g = 430m, 100% Wool - Merino, 1 skein. Total use 40g. For the shawl sample I used Frank Ochre colorway.
- Hook size 2,5 mm. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
- Tapestry needle (to weave and hide yarn ends)
- Scissor
Level: Beginner +
Gauge after blocking:
After 16 rows cowl is aprrox. 10cm/4in long.
Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirements and the finished size.
Size after blocking:
158cm long (before seamed up into circle), 18 wide
Notes:
• The pattern uses US Terminology.
• The cowl is worked flat and seamed to create a loop.
• The printable PDF includes the stitch chart.
I have given instruction to change the width\length depending on the amount of yarn you have or your personal preferences. A long size cowl create an airy infinity scarf and a smaller one would be a great last-minute gift.
