This effective sunflower pattern is perfect for any embellishment project. Could be also be used as an applique for a hat or any accessory that requires a large flower. It’s finished size is approximately 11cm using the above suggested yarn and hook size so it will differ according to your choice of yarn and hook.

I like to make flowers in 100% cotton because it gives a ‘clean’ finish. But this would look equally adorable in an acrylic or wool. This pattern is suitable for an intermediate level crocheter because it’s quite fiddly in places, especially if you’re using the cotton which doesn’t have the same ‘give’ as acrylic.
