I’ve updated this pattern to include the striped version of this cowl. You will get all three versions in two files when you buy the pattern.

This cowl is knit sideways with short rows, a clean I-cord edge and then grafted together for a seamless look. It’s long and wide enough to be able to be worn in many different ways and styles. Knit in a wonderful gradient sock yarn or three of your favorite striped sock yarns, this cozy cowl can add lots of fun color and warmth to whatever you’re wearing.

I’ve knit this cowl in three styles, either use 3 matching balls of your favorite gradient yarn or try using 3 skeins of stripy sock yarn to get some wonderful color that’s so much fun to knit and an eye catcher to wear. The third version is knit in contrasting stripes.

Approximate dimensions after washing and blocking: 43 cm/17 inches wide and 132 cm/52 inches long.
Skill Level: beginner.
Yarn: 3 skeins = 1259.1 meters (1377.0 yards), 300 grams fingering weight gradient or striped sock yarn. I used Schoppel-Wolle Crazy Zauberball and Nicole C. Mendez striped sock.
3 skeins = 696.9 meters (762.1 yards), 150 grams of each color of Geilsk 3 ply Bomuld og uld. I used color 17C and 8C.
Needles: US 3 /3.25 mm.
Notions: waste yarn to hold stitches and a darning needle to weave in ends and to graph the two ends together. Gauge: 20 sts/4 inches in garter stitch.
