Designed for my 2024 Advent Calendar inspired by Winter Solstice.

Sunset River, with its gentle turns, and the colors gently fading from blues to warm hearty oranges, It looks like a river at sunset, with enchanting warm colors reflecting, where the sky and setting sun hits the water, and all the shades of blue in those places where trees and stone don’t let the lights in.

This year I added a larger skein set to the lineup for the Advent Calendars.
Not everyone love mini skeins, so I wanted to give the chance to enjoy the fun and surprises of the Advent Calendar to who does not especially like mini skeins.
I designed this scarf/wrap to be an easy and relaxing knit, perfect for busy times, for TV nights, or while listening to a beautiful audiobook or your favourite podcast.

This is an asymmetrical scarf/wrap designed to work with a 5 skeins gradient/fade set, in either Fingering/DK yarn, and in multiple sizes for different yarn amounts.
It is easy to adjust and will also work with mini skeins and scrap yarns.

The scarf/wrap is knitted flat in garter stitch, and shaped with increases, decreases, and slipped stitches. Each section forms an irregular parallelogram, with increases and decreases that shift directions to create interest, framed by columns of slipped stitches. A knitted on icord border paired with icord cast on and bind off will make for the perfect finishing.

GAUGE
Fingering (DK) weight versions:
20 sts & 37 rows (15 sts & 32 rows) in 10 cm/4 inches in Garter stitch, worked flat and measured after blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial, but differences will make a significant difference in the finished measurements and in the amount of yarn needed.

NEEDLES
Fingering weight version:
4 mm/US 6 circular needles, at least 60 cm/24” long
DK weight version:
5 mm/US 8 circular needles, at least 60 cm/24” long
