The tunic/dress has about 20-22 cm / 8-8.75 inches of positive ease.

A summer dress or tunic for our princesses. Light and airy. Adjustable.

The dress version is designed to be worn without other clothes underneath. That is why the front of the dress as well as the top part of the skirt is worked in plain stockinette stitch – to cover what should be covered.

The tunic version is designed to be worn over other cloths, but I also use the tunic over a swimsuit on the beach.

Suggested yarns: Sport
Tools:

• 3.5 mm (US 4) 60 cm / 24 inch circular needles, or needles needed to get gauge; 2.5 mm (US 1.5) 60 cm / 23 inch cm circular needles for the back of the waistband, or needles 1 mm smaller than gauge needles
• BOR marker + 2 markers
• 2 long stitch holders or scrap yarn for holding live stitches
• crochet hook for picot bind off (optional) size 2 – 3 mm (corresponding to your needle size)
• crochet hook for placing beads (optional) size 0.6 mm beads – hole width about 1.2 - 2 mm (optional)

Gauge: 23 sts and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in stockinette stitch
Exact gauge is not crucial for this project, due to the ease and construction. Gauge differences will influence yardage.
