Sunshine sweater junior is the junior version of the Sunshine sweater. The idea of the original sunshine sweater came to me on a cold day in autumn when I wanted to knit a sweater that reminded me of spring and summer. The result reminds me of warming beams from the sun. For somebody like me - not a great fan of high temperatures - it is just perfect to live in Iceland, a country where I can wear knitted sweaters all year around, even in the spring and summer when the sun is high in the sky.

As always, it is important to figure out the correct size. The measurements tell you the size of the sweater itself. The length on both sleeves and body is easy to adapt to your size. Since the sweater is knitted top down it is easy to try on as you go. I recommend that you add some yarn if you prefer the sleeves or the body to be a bit longer. It is very important to do a gauge swatch before you start. Go up a size in needle if you knit tight and down a size if you knit loose. It is so very disappointing to knit a sweater which turns out to be too big or too small

Sunshine sweater junior is knitted top down, starting with the neckline being knitted in the round. Then the yoke is worked with even increases so the stitches increase at the same time as the beams are created by slipping stitches between the needles with yarn in back.

Sólskinsbarnapeysa er barnaútgáfan af Sólskinspeysunni sem er peysa fyrir fullorðna. Hugmyndin að Sólskinspeysunni kom til mín á köldum haustdegi þegar mig langaði að gera peysu sem minnti mig á vorið og sumarið. Úr varð peysa með mynstri sem líktist yljandi geislum sólarinnar.

Eins og alltaf er mikilvægt að skoða vel stærðirnar sem eru í boði. Málin sem eru gefin upp segja til um stærðirnar á peysunum sjálfum og ég hvet fólk til að skoða þau frekar en nöfnin á stærðunum. Börn eru auðvitað mismun-andi að stærð eftir aldri og mikilvægt er að yfirvíddin passi vel en hún segir til um málin yfir brjóstkassann. Lengd á ermum og bol er alltaf hægt að breyta og auðvelt er að máta peysuna jafnóðum þar sem hún er prjónuð ofan frá og niður. Það getur verið skynsamlegt að bæta við garni ef þið hyggist lengja ermar eða bol.
