Construction is Top-Down beginning with a provisional cast on of the back straps. The back neck is shaped, and back is worked to the underarm with shaping. The front is picked up from the back straps and worked similarly to the underarm with shaping. At the underarm, stitches are cast on and the body is joined to be worked in the round downward with optional A-line shaping.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
32 (34, 36, 40) (44, 48, 52, 56)” / 81 (86, 94.5, 101.5) (112, 122, 132, 142) cm bust circumference. Recommended ease -2 to +3 inches at bust. Choose a size that is 2”/ 5 cm smaller to 3” / 7.5 cm bigger than your actual bust size. Sample shown in size 34 with 1”/ 2.5 cm of positive ease.
YARN RECOMMENDATIONS:
Best worked in lace or fingering weight yarn.
The sample shown was knit in Cape May Fiber’s Butterfly Lace (80% extra fine merino, 20% silk) – 875 yds per 100 g skein in Sunflower Sauce
APPROXIMATE YARDAGE:
For lace weight: 69 (75, 83, 91) (101, 111, 122, 135) g / 600 (656, 725, 800) (890, 975, 1075, 1180) yds
NEEDLES:
US Size 3 (3.25mm) and 4 (3.5mm) 24“/ 61 cm long circular needles. US Size 3 (3.25mm) 16” / 40.5 cm long circular needle for armhole edging.
GAUGE:
24 sts and 36 rows = 4” in St st, after blocking, 22 sts and 48 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in Garter Lace pattern, after blocking.
