This pretty, warm-weather shrug begins with a provisional cast on and the lace pattern is worked as a rectangle. The waste yarn is removed from the provisional cast on and some stitches are cast on at the underarms. The trim is then worked in the round for a few inches. For a stretchy and fun edge, the trim is bound off with some picots!

No seaming is required to make this piece.

Shown in Classic Elite’s Sprout yarn (or Tahki Hatteras)
100% organic cotton
100 gram hank = approx 109 yards
2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3) hanks in color 4355 Sassafras Tea, or approx 140 (170, 190, 220, 240, 280, 300) yards in a comparable earth-friendly yarn.

Knitting Needles:
Sizes US 10 and 11 (6 and 6.5 mm) 32” circular.
Or size to obtain gauge.

Notions:
Stitch marker, waste yarn and crochet hook size US J/10 (6 mm) for provisional cast on; tapestry needle.

Gauge: 12 sts (4 stitch repeats) and 18 rows (6 row repeats) = 4.5” (11.5 cm) in Lace Pattern with smaller needles, after wet-blocking and stretching to dry; 10 sts = 4” (10 cm) in 3 x 3 Ribbing with larger needles. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
