Suomi Socks
These Suomi Sock patterns are based on traditional Finnish folk knitting designs that I remember from my childhood.
It is important to knit a small sample with the yarn and a few different size needles to determine the correct needle to use.
If you are working with 2 colour strands, this generally knits up a bit tighter. So to compensate for the tighter tension, I use a needle that is one size bigger.
For example, I usually use 2.5 size needles for plain knitting. In 2 colour work, I use 2.75 for that section of the sock.
The pattern uses 4 ply sock knitting wool. Approx. 100 grams should be sufficient for a pair of socks. The pattern is worked with multiple colours, so it is a great way to use leftover wools from your stash.
