Work up these easy super bulky knit slipper socks in a flash for a quick gift for yourself or someone else!

This pattern uses super bulky yarn (Weight category #6). I used Yarn Bee Effortless Super Bulky. You will be using only size 8 needles with this yarn, so it is quite a bit smaller than a yarn usually used with super bulky. This makes for tight, close stitches that are super warm.

You can use any super bulky yarn that gets gauge, and you can also hold two or three strands of other yarns (such as worsted weight yarn or bulky yarn) together to get gauge.

This pattern is knit in Stockinette Stitch (St st), which is knit one row, purl one row. This pattern is knit flat, not in the round.

It is knit from the heel to the toe. The back of the heel is shaped first, then the sides are cast on and knit even to the toe shaping. Finally, the toe area is decreased.

This pattern is written for women’s sizes 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10. If possible, it’s best to know the foot length of the person you are making these for, but if that is not possible, you can make their shoe size. These slippers do stretch a bit and fit a variety of sizes.

I especially like this pattern in wool or alpaca. Yarn used is an alpaca blend.
