Super Jumpsuit // Super-Heldress
The most fun and playful jumpsuit for babies and toddlers! Use colours and contrasts, and match with a cool face on the bum to create a unique garment.
The jumpsuit is knit bottom-up, legs first. The legs are joined together, and the body is knit in the round, until you split for the front opening. From here, it is knit back and forth. The arms are knit separately and then joined together with the body. The yoke is knit with a symmetric decrease. You then pick up stitches and knit on icord edge front bands, before you finish with the collar. The suit is at last fitted with a zipper.
The face on the bum has a short row mouth, and the details are sewn on with duplicate stitch. I have added an attachment of diagrams to the pattern, which will help you design your own unique version of the jumpsuit. The short row mouth in front is knit in contrast colour. There are diagrams of the mouth for each size, and you can then draw on your nose, eyes and other details.
I have also drawn more than a hundred face diagrams, ready for you to use! You find them in the albums in the Facebook knit-along group:
So if you are looking for Totoro, baby shark or Chase from Paw Patrol, look no further!
Sizes range from 3 months up to 4 years, with instructions on how to make adjustments to ensure a good fit.
Gauge 22 sts per 10 cm allows for a wide range of yarns to be used. You probably have some single skeins and small scraps just lying about (I sure do). And now you found the perfect project for it.
Approximate yardage:
250 (300) 350 (450) 500 (550) grams
You also need a zipper, length 30 (30) 35 (35) 40 (45) cm.
