Crocheted loosely on a large hook , this Super Market Bag becomes a traditional string bag when it stretches on its first use . Gauge is not important but as I crochet loosely , you may need to go up a size in the hooks . The pattern uses less than one ball of Lily Sugar n Cream 113 g yarn .

The yarn is also available in lots of colours so make a few as they crochet up quickly and there is no sewing up .

It’s perfect for using as a produce bag at a farmers’ market - combine it with my drawstring produce bags for fruit and vegetables which I’m releasing soon .
