Total yards needed for the blanket = 1,074.
Any baby-safe yarn - DK/Light Worsted/8-Ply yarn.

Needles

4 mm (US 6) 100 cm/40 inch circular knitting needles.
You do not join in the round to work - the cable is to accommodate a large number of stitches.
