Supermoon 2016
This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).
“Supermoon 2016” is the second sideways shawl from the “Mivo Theory” Collection. As I designed “Mivo Theory,” so many design ideas came to me and this is the one of the several upcoming designs.
Just like the way Mivo Theory is, it has a set protocol; 3x1 stripes, textured stitch section, then 1x1 stripes. The Supermoon shines in the middle and its ripples spread to both ends.
Within the protocol, this shawl can be knit in any size and with any yarn weight. You also have several options to change it up; a location of the textured section can be more centered and/or the length of each section can be altered. Please create your own theory of “Supermoon 2016. ”

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.
Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU to meet Mino.
