The little girl who inspired me to design this wrap showed me how to be a stardust sparkling superstar. Big dreams, unicorns and a pink sparkly shawl… what else does a girl need in life? ;-)

SuperStarDust has a slightly unusual crescent shape, with the neck standing up a bit. It ensures a nice fit when worn around the back of the neck but does not bother when worn in the front. With its variety of stitches, it tries to convey the joy, confidence and sparkles of that wonderful time in life: childhood.

Gauge:
With 4.5mm hook: A pattern repeat of 15 hdc and 8 rows (hdc) measures 10x10 cm/4x4”, after blocking.

Yarn:
√ #3 (DK) or #4 (Aran/Worsted) weight yarn: 150g, 440 meters/480 yards. The yarn used in the example was Made by ME Specials: Scarfie Cake (61% cotton, 34% acrylic, 5% polyester).

Recommended yarns for this pattern can be Lionbrand Shawl in a Ball or Shawl in a Cake, Scheepjes whirl (or any other gradient yarn) or Lionbrand Shawl in a Ball Metallic (for the sparkle effect). This list is by no means exhaustive, only meant to give some ideas. Many DK yarns lend themselves to make this shawl.

Stitches:
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
Hdc – half double crochet
Dc – double crochet
Sc2tog – sc two together (see special sts)
Hdc2tog – hdc two together (see special sts)
Tr – treble crochet
3tr-cl – 3 treble crochet cluster (see special sts)
Picot – picot (see special sts)
Puff – puff st (see special sts)

Size (after blocking):
This crescent wrap is 112 cm wide (about 44 ½“) and 55 cm deep (about 22 ½”), measured in the centre, when using the stated yarn, hook and gauge. It can be easily adjusted to different lengths and widths by adding or subtracting pattern repeats (see pattern notes).

Pattern includes:
Written pattern, Special stitches explanations, pattern notes and instructions to adjust pattern size.

Difficulty:
Advanced beginner/Intermediate. Although there might be many new stitches for a beginner, they are well explained in the special stitches section of the pattern which helps to breeze through making this shawl smoothly.
