Everyone needs support from time to time and sometimes that support comes from from the shallower edges of the Hot Zone (or the Underworld, depending on how you view things). This adorable little demon can be tasked with dealing with those things too big or heavy for you, or you can talk with them to work out things so they become smaller for you.

This little demon should be about hand-holding size and will be happy to take your squeezes and tears and hugs as you need.

Inspired by YouTube’s The Click’s Emotional Support Demon and my (lack of) budget, the proceeds from June will be donated to the Trevor Project!

The goal was to create something that would be complete without any sewing, but also allow flexibility for decorations and personalization.

In the photos, the larger demon was made with a G hook and the smaller with an E hook. Use the yarn size and hook size that give you the size you want (or that your hands like). The larger one has surface crochet (the smile), some sewing along the ridge of it’s wings, toes, and the optional horns. The smaller is just the demon with safety eyes.

The pattern is written with a lot of flexibility to it. You can omit the feets or the wings, have wings without the lacy edges, omit the tail, whatever feels right to you. The result is your blank canvas to decorate. No safety eyes? Embroider or surface crochet or make apliques! Same techniques for the rest! Make the demon yours (or for the person you intend it for!). I’ll soon be making one with tentacles instead of front feets
