Sur Cardigan
Sur Cardigan is a drop shoulder design that features big pockets and a belt. It is constructed from the top down and it is worked flat as well as in the round (sleeves) in stockinette stitch along with the front band that is worked in rib simultaneously with the sweater. First, back section is worked until the armhole depth is reached, then each shoulder fronts are worked and finally both fronts are joined with the back and the body is worked in one piece. 10 to 20 cm / 4” to 8” of positive ease is built into the pattern, choose your size based on how much ease you prefer.

Gauge
16 stitches by 20 rows = 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm) using size US 10.5 / 6.50 mm needles in stockinette stitch, after washing and blocking.
Suggested Yarn
The Sur Cardigan is made with bulky weight yarn (12 ply), you will need approximately 850, (900), 975, (1100), 1250, (1300), 1375, (1500), 1600 grams of Echoview Fiber Mill “Haley”, 115 grams = 137 meters / 150 yards. Sample featured in color “Soft Ivory”. Please note, this yarn was a bit difficult to calculate for the estimate because it is slightly thick and thin, so extra % is included just in case. Haley yarn is a beautiful blend of 65% USA Alpaca, 25% USA Merino Wool and 10% Angora Mohair. It is produced in a small, women owned fiber mill in North Carolina.

US 10.5 / 6.50 mm 32” / 81 cm circular knitting needles or needles to obtain gauge for the main body and double pointed needles or short 25 - 30 cm / 10” - 12” short tip needles for the sleeves+
US 10 / 6.00 mm 32” / 81 cm for the body ribbing and double pointed needles or short 25 - 30 cm / 10” - 12” short tip needles for the sleeve cuffs and belt.
