Surface-Woven Tote
Pattern description from Bag Style: “Although this bag is visually complex, Theresa Schabes designed it to be surprisingly quick and easy to knit. She worked the rectangular front and back in a simple knit-purl pattern, then knitted a long gusset to connect them along the sides and base with a decorative whipstitch. For more embellishment, she worked a contrasting yarn through the purl bumps in an embroidery technique known as surface weaving. Theresa lined the inside of the bag and added strong suede handles sewn on with upholstery thread so that even heavy loads would be secure.”
