Surprise Twist Hooded Cowl
Sometimes the winter cold is so biting that you want more than just a hat, more than just a cowl- Enter, the hooded cowl.
This cowl starts off with a side to side ribbing that you customize to your exact measurements. Then, fold it in half and add to the fun by creating a cable twist on the back while you simultaneously seam it closed. A fun edging of faux fur can be added around the face of the hood for further interest and personalization.
Yarn: Pattern sample uses good ole Red Heart Super Saver. But use your favorite #4/aran/worsted weight yarn. You’ll need about 200-300 yds for the hood. For the faux fur trim you’ll need about 100 yds of your favorite bulky yarn.
Materials: I/5.5mm hook for the main body of the hooded cowl. K/6.5mm hook for the faux fur trim.
scissors, stitch markers, blunt tip needle for weaving in ends, buttons for closure 1” in diameter.
This pattern uses US terminology. Written and charted.
