Sustenance Sweater
This sweater is the answer for those rainy days full of favorite movies and knitting. Perfect for three seasons, it helps to keep it handy for chilly restaurants and offices. Knit as a cardigan, or omit the sleeves and wear as a vest.
Sizes: Women’s XS-3X
Yarn Requirements: Six skeins Lindon Merino (size XS); Seven skeins (S); Eight skeins (M-L), Nine skeins (1X), Ten skeins (2X-3X)
Yardage: 1035 (1125, 1305, 1395, 1600, 1710, 1800) yards
Colorway: Eavan
This sweater jacket is worked in rectangles: one back with two fronts. Easy side seams give the sweater structure. The only other seam is a bit of collar seaming at the back neck because the collar is worked at the same time with the fronts. A three needle bind off at the shoulders make an easy finish of the shoulder seams. Stitches are picked up around the armhole for sleeves which are worked in the round from the shoulder seam down.
Moss stitch is worked on the collar with wide, straight k1, p1 ribbing (does not pull in) on sleeve edgings and bottom of sweater with stockinette stitch on main body of sweater and sleeves.
Sample worked in size 42.5”. Sweater is designed to fit loosely with a couple inches of positive ease.
