This design came out of a request from Suzanne. She wanted a long infinity scarf/cowl that she could wrap twice around, in red, with “cables and stuff”.
I came up with this reversible pattern that’s easy to memorize. For her version (red), I finished it off by knitting a faux button band between the two ends and adding buttons to both sides: two looks in the same cowl!
The blue version is grafted together and links to helpful grafting videos are provided in the pattern.
Don’t want a cowl? Nothing could be simpler than than working this pattern flat and making a scarf.
Short cowl: 33” circumference, 7” width: 275yd/250m aran weight yarn
Long cowl: 75” circumference, 7” width: 550yd/503m aran weight yarn
Scarf: 95” length, 7” width: 600yd/549m aran weight yarn
