Suzi Owl Book/Tablet Holder
About the book holder:
This pattern was inspired by my son. He’s not too keen on reading and I tried to encourage his somehow and make reading more fun. Towards the evening he was also complaining that he’s too tired to hold the book so I came up with the idea of making him something to prop his book on and that’s how the book holder series came about (new designs coming soon). This crochet holder is also ideal for resting tablets, kindles etc.
This book/tablet holder is not only a fun toy but also a very useful learning tool. After I’ve created this book holder I’ve found out that presenting reading or math material in a vertical format is conducive to better learning. That’s because the mind is able to process in a more natural manner of looking forward rather than looking downward.
Thanks to this holder your child can even have a drink while reading or watching films on their tablets! How cool is that?
About the pattern:
US terms used. 8 pages long.
The pattern is in the form of very detailed written description with loads of notes and tips and supported by photographs to make the pattern easy to understand even for beginners who would like to learn new skills.
Please note you’ll need adobe acrobat reader in order to read the pdf pattern.
Note: To print the pdf pattern please first save it to your computer, click on the file to open it in Adobe Reader and then print it out. It might not print out the whole pattern if you will try printing it via web browser pdf viewer.
Note: The yarn I used is UK brand. If you are based in the USA, good substitute of yarn is Lion Brand hometown USA yarn or any super bulky yarn that suggests 9-10mm hook.
