Sveaborg Hat
SVEABORG HAT
The Sveaborg hat is started with a tubular cast on, which makes the cast on edge neat and stretchy, although instructions are provided for the long tail cast on method as well. The cable pattern is both charted and written.
The Sveaborg hat is designed to get you through even the chilliest and windiest days of the winter season. The hat got its name from a little island of Sveaborg (aka Suomenlinna) that is situated in front of my hometown Helsinki. On calm and sunny days, it is a popular day trip destination for people living in Helsinki, but the weather can get quite rough on a stormy day when the wind blows from the open sea.
The Sveaborg hat matches my Sveaborg collar and Sveaborg Pullover patterns.

Note: The hat uses a strand of worsted weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight yarn, but they can be substituted for a single strand of aran weight yarn.
