Swallowtail Caterpillar Socks
The Swallowtail Caterpillar Socks are modeled after the markings on the caterpillars of the Anise Swallowtail, Papilio zelicaon. These socks are knit toe-up with a short-row heel and are not left/right footed, facilitating two-at-a-time knitting. The colorwork instructions are charted.
Yarn
Fingering-weight (sock) yarn:
150-300 meters (165-330 yards) Green
50-100 meters (55-110 yards) Black
20-40 meters (25-45 yards) Yellow
Sizing
I provide instructions for 7 foot circumferences: 7”/18cm (7.5”/19cm) (8”/20.5cm) (8.5”/21.5cm) (9”/23cm) (9.5”/24cm) (10”/25.5cm). The pattern includes measurement details for each size as well as information on how to choose a size for your foot.
