The city of Lakeland, Florida is sometimes called “Swan City” because of its large population of swans (they are in nearly every lake around here), which are descendants of a pair of mute swans gifted to the city by Queen Elizabeth II in 1957. How fun is that?

Swan City is an asymmetrical cowl knit flat with increases worked on one edge to provide subtle shaping. I’ve used the brand new sport weight yarn from Emma’s Yarn, but you could easily sub a fingering or dk for similar results. The pattern is both written and charted.
