Swarm of Wasps Skirt
One of my favorite lace patterns is Wasp Wing Lace. If you use your imagination it looks like the winged insect. An advantage of this lace pattern is that it is very easy to memorize. The skirt requires minimal finishing as it is knit top down, and the waistband is completed as it is knit. You can also try it on as you go. Stockinette stitch is worked until mid-thigh length. Then the Wasp Wing Lace pattern is worked. Increases are used to gradually increase the circumference. As you select a size, keep in mind the “waist” measurement is not at the navel but a bit lower. The fit is loose at the hips. Since the “wasps” are worked top down, the bottom edge of the skirt is not scalloped. This top accompanies the Swarm of Wasps Top .Compare this edge to the edge on the Swarm of Wasps Top, which is worked bottom up.
