Thanks for checking out the Ravelry page for the Swatchcloths I pattern!. This pattern is also included in the June Patreon offerings.

Try a couple of quick stitch patterns and make some useful washcloths or dishcloths at the same time! If you feel like it! Using this pattern!

This instantly downloadable .PDF pattern makes three quick and simple dishcloths, knit and then finished with neat borders. One is a solid textured stitch (moss stitch locally, but it varies!) while the others are a traditional mesh lace and a very close variation.

Each variation includes stitch counts to make two different sizes, so you can dial in the size to fit your preferences.

They’re also sized to be very similar dimensions when finished—-kind of silly, but if you make a whole set of these, they’ll fold together more neatly that way.

These are all knit with two strands of 10/2 cotton or cotton/linen held together. The blue cloth is Brassard Cotolin (8/2 technically) and the off-white cloths are 10/2 crochet cotton plus a strand of 10/2 unmercerized cotton.

Materials:

  • 210-230 yards Brassard Cotolin (two strands held together), or similar 8/2 or 10/2 non-mercerized cotton
  • 1 24” circular needle in US2-3/2.75-3.25mm, or size needed for gauge. (Work is both flat and in the round.)
  • crochet hook for provisional cast-on
  • scrap yarn for provisional cast-on
  • Tapestry needle
  • 4 removable stitch markers

Gauge:
Gauge is 18 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm of first stitch motif, worked flat and blocked lightly. Please be sure to check your gauge, or more realistically, knit your dishcloths at the gauge you prefer.

Measurements:
All three swatchcloth patterns make small(medium)) cloths that measure about 7.5(10.75)“/19(27)cm square.
