For so many of us, 2020 brought a big pile of Life Lessons. One of the things I learned is that even when things around us are at a standstill, we must be willing to steady ourselves, then keep moving. When stress reaches in to make us feel rigid and resistant to that movement, our best option is to sway. To lean in or out of situations while holding on to our center. To bend and do all we can not to break. Moving toward things that sustain us, swaying away from things that deplete us. Flowing as a means of self-preservation so we can be at our best for each other.

Cowl Construction: Top-down, worked in the round with a ribbed border in contrasting colors. Body of the cowl includes a slipped-stitch pattern using two high-contrasting colors to create the motif and texture over the main color.

Sample Yarn (pictured): Lady Dye Yarns DK SW Merino in three contrasting colors: “Wingaersheek”, 100g (MC); “Chestnut” 20g (CC1); “Hot Chocolate” 20g (CC2).

Gauge: 23 sts and 28 rounds per 4 in (10 cm) of stockinette stitch on larger needles, unblocked

Sizes: one size with finished circumference of 21” circumference, 15” height (steam blocked with minimal stretching). Circumference can be adjusted by casting on more or less sts in multiples of 5 or working more or fewer repeats of the slip-sway-stitch pattern. Adjust yardage as necessary.
