Swear Crow Talking Bird
In this pattern I give row by row instructions on how to create this design with single crochet or corner to corner crochet. There are two versions of this pattern included, both have full row by row instructions and a grid.
- With a rude word as seen pictured
- With a blank speech bubble for you to embroider or back stitch any words you like!
Difficulty Level: Beginner with color changing
Finished Size Guide: All sizes are estimated and depend on your tension and yarn choices.
- Single Crochet with Truboo Weight 3 yarn: 11” by 13.5”.
- Corner to Corner Blanket with Weight 4 yarn assuming approx 0.75 inch blocks: 39” by 64”.
- For other techniques, check how big a stitch or block of your method is - the grid is 52 blocks wide by 85 blocks tall.
Recommended Materials for SC Picture Version:
Crochet hook - 3.5mm, Large bodkin for finishing touches and hanging. Something to hang it with - a frame or a wooden dowel.
Yarn: Any weight 3 yarn for this pattern in the appropriate colors as listed. I used Lion Brand Truboo (100g) - you will need less than half a ball of each color:
Silver, Blue, Light Pink, Thistle, Mushroom, Slate
Skills Needed: Single crochet, color changing. When you change color, ALWAYS pull the NEW color through as the final loop in the last stitch of the old color. If you are only doing one stitch in that color, that stitch counts as the last stitch.
Other notes:
- I highly recommend some form of bobbins when crocheting this pattern to keep your yarn organized.
- If you are making this as a wall hanging you won’t need to sew in any ends! So be free to cut your yarn and start new whenever you feel like it. Tie it off at the back as needed.
