The sweater is worked in one piece top down. The design was inspired by the movement and shape of waves in the water, and by the intertwining of the braids that we comb into our hair. It begins with a ribbed neck with a buttonhole for a better fit through the head. The yoke is worked with a sequence of horizontal braids that surRound the entire chest as the stitches are increased to make the garment grow. Once the yoke is finished, the sleeves and body are separated, and the armhole is formed. After that, the sleeves and body are worked separately and it’s length can be adjusted as required. The sweater is finished with the ribbing in the hem and cuffs.

Sizes: 3 (6) 12 (24) 36 months

Chest circumference of the finished garment: 52 (55) 58 (60) 61 cm
All sizes consider a positive ease of 8 to 10 cm on the body.

Gauge: 16 stitches and 20 rounds knitted in the round with main needles, after blocking = 10x10 cm (4/4 inches)

Needles: 4,5 mm y 5 mm (main) circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. Recommended 25 cable for small circumferences (DNPs or magic loop) and 40 and 60 cm cable for yoke and body.

Yarn: Worsted. 12 WPI or another suitable yarn to obtain gauge

Sample yarn: Soft de Revesderecho, two strands held together (200 mt en 100 gr)

Amount of yarn: 200 (220) 240 (280) 320 meters; 100 (110) 120 (140) 160 grams.
These amounts are referential. The final amount will depend on the composition of the yarn and the total length of the final sweater.
Optional color for horizontal braids: 50 (52) 55 (58) 60 meters; 25 (26) 28 (29) 30 grams.

Other tools: 1 button, scissors, stitch holders or waste yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Este es un sweater tejido de arriba hacia abajo (top-down), con canesú circular (circular knitting - round yoke). El diseño fue inspirado en el movimiento y forma que toman las ondas en el agua, y en el entrelazado de las trenzas que peinamos en nuestro cabello. Se inicia con un cuello en punto elástico tejido en plano y formando un ojal para una mayor comodidad. Luego se une el tejido para tejer el canesú en circular, el cual tiene una secuencia de trenzas horizontales que rodean todo el pecho a medida que se van aumentando los puntos para hacer crecer la prenda. Terminado el canesú, se separan mangas y cuerpo, y se forma la sisa. Las mangas y cuerpo pueden ser ajustadas al largo que se requiera, y finalizan en la pretina y puños con punto elástico.

Todas las tallas consideran una holgura positiva de 6 a 7 cm en el cuerpo.

Muestra de tensión: 16 puntos y 20 vueltas en punto jersey con agujas principales, después de bloquear = 10x10 cm (4/4 inches)
Agujas: Agujas circulares de 4,5 mm y 5 mm (principales), o aquellas adecuadas para alcanzar la muestra de tensión. Cable de 25 cm (o agujas de doble punta para mangas magic loop) para mangas, y cable 40 y 60 cm para canesú y cuerpo.

Grosor del hilado: Worsted. 12 WPI u otro hilado adecuado para alcanzar la muestra.

Hilado de la muestra: Soft de Revésderecho usando hebra doble (200 metros en 100 gramos)

Estas cantidades son referenciales. La cantidad definitiva dependerá de la composición del hilado y del largo total que desees para el sweater.
De forma opcional puedes usar un hilado de color contrastante para las trenzas horizontales: 50 (52) 55 (58) 60 metros; 25 (26) 28 (29) 30 gramos.
