Sweater for a Lawn Flamingo
I have two flamingos in my yard. I love having them there, and keep them up all year long. Initially, I just knit them scarves, but decided to knit up a sweater. Now, when the weather turns cold, the flamingos get their sweaters!
Fun for a single plastic yarn flamingo or a flock!
A sweater for the pink plastic lawn flamingo forced to winter in cold lands. This pattern offers a basic pattern for a ribbed, long neck, plastic flamingo cozy/sweater. I recommend using a sturdy, washable, non-felting yarn as it’s likely to be exposed to the elements all winter long. Partial balls will work! The sample sweaters are less than 40 grams each.
This pattern is knit to fit a standard plastic lawn flamingo. Different brands may require slight adjustments to neck length or leg placement.
Gauge is not super important. Be certain that the neck will stretch widely enough to fit the head of the flamingo through. The necks of the sample sweaters stretch to about 2.5” wide.
