The pattern is ideal for knitting and watching your favourite films because this summer top is very easy to knit without much counting so you can focus on your film and even read some subtitles while the top is being knitted. You’ll also have “special moments” in knitting and these are the stages of shaping your knit. Playing with different attitudes towards shaping knitting gives us knitters a lot fun. That’s what “Tanager” is like. Knitting the sleeves is so much fun and the rest of the sweater is so relaxing that you can watch the most engaging films in your life while knitting. The name of the pattern is inspired by birds which I love.

The sweater is knitted bottom-up, in the round and seamless. The main needles are 6 mm (US 10).

At the back of the pattern you will find detailed and helpful information about: techniques (e.g. a Long Tail Cast-On, decreasing, binding off, Provisional Cast-On), tips (how to join sleeves, shape a neckline, sew an underarm hole), measurements, yarn used in the pattern, needles and gauge measured before and after blocking, glossary. I also prepared lots of instructional videos for those of you who prefer this form of learning new techniques.

Skill Level: Intermediate but beginner knitters can also use it, because there is a lot of help in the pattern (simple stitches and techniques; clear instructions, links to lots of helpful video tutorials provided detailed tables for each size included in the pattern).

Bust Size:
Measurements are taken flat before blocking and are given in centimetres.: 38 (S), 40 (M), 42 (L). The sample is shown by a model who is size (S) (height: 164 cm, bust circumference: 95 cm).

• interchangeable circular needles nr 6 mm (US 10) with a cable making 60 cm
• short interchangeable needles nr 5 mm (US 8) with a cable making 40 cm
• interchangeable circular needles nr 5,5 mm (US 9)
• short interchangeable needles nr 4,5 mm (US 7)
• a row counting marker with a ring to hang from a needle, e.g. Prym row counter
• pin markers
• tapestry needle
• blocking boards
• blocking wires and pins

• a crochet hook 6 mm

Gauge made on needles 6 mm (US 10):
15 sts and 22 rows per 10 cm / 4’’ in jersey stitch with both strands together, before blocking.
15 sts and 20 rows per 10 cm / 4’’ in jersey stitch with both strands together, after blocking.

Schachenmayr Catania Originals (100% mercerized cotton; 125 mt – 50 gr, colour 0252) x 4,5 skeins (S)(M), 5 (L).

Oceany prawych oczek – dla niektórych rodzaj dziergania, przy którym natychmiast zasypiają, dla innych łakomy kąsek do wrzucenia na druty, ponieważ wtedy dopiero mogą oglądać filmy z napisami. Taki projekt jest do tego stworzony, bluzeczka robi się praktycznie sama bez liczenia i pilnowania. Są też „momenty” w dzierganiu, czyli etapy tworzenia dzianiny, gdzie emocje sięgają zenitu. Tego dostarcza zabawa formą, fasonem, zupełnie innym podejściem do kształtowania swetra. Taki jest „Tanager”- tworzenie rękawów jest świetną zabawą, a dzierganie reszty pozwala obejrzeć najbardziej wciągający film, czy serial.

Sweter jest robiony od dołu, na okrągło i bezszwowo, podstawowe druty to 6 mm (US 10).

Na końcu wzoru znajdziesz dużo wskazówek: szczegółowy opis technik (np. nabieranie, odejmowanie i zamykanie oczek, Provisional Cast-On), podpowiedzi (jak nabrać oczka na rękawy, jak wykonać dekolt, jak wszyć nitki i jak zaszyć dziurkę pod rękawami), próbka dzianiny przed blokowaniem i po nim, potrzebne materiały, nazwa i kolor włóczki, z której wykonałam bluzeczkę, jej wymiary, słowniczek terminów i zdjęcia samej bluzki. Zostawiłam je na koniec, by można było je pominąć podczas drukowania wzoru. Dla tych, którzy preferują filmiki instruktażowe, przygotowałam wiele nagrań dostępnych na kanale You Tube.

Poziom trudności: średni, ale osoby początkujące również poradzą sobie ze wzorem, ponieważ jest w nim dużo pomocnych podpowiedzi, linków do wielu filmików instruktażowych, a same instrukcje przekazane są w jasny, zrozumiały sposób; wzór zawiera też tabele z liczbą oczek dla każdego rozmiaru.
