As I started knitting this design, the center rosette pattern stood out to me, and it reminded me of the traditional Swedish holiday cookie, the Swedish Rosette. This scarf is double knitted, and the pattern presupposes that you are familiar with this particular knitting technique. You will be knitting 2 layers of fabric simultaneously while producing a fully reversible scarf. The reverse side of your scarf automatically is a reverse of your first side’s color pattern. I used 750 yards of Madelinetosh’s Vintage worsted weight Merino Yarn (375 yards in 2 colors) in the shades of Deep and Winter Wheat to knit this piece. You can decide how long you would like your scarf to be based on how much yarn you have on hand and personal preference. Using 750 yards of yarn in worsted weight, my finished scarf is 5 foot 6 inches long and 7 ¼ inches wide. The pattern includes a color coded chart and a few helpful video links if you would like to learn how to double knit.
