Sweet and Easy Hat is a bottom up hat worked in the round. It has a folded brim, and you can modify the brim to be any kind or any length.
Size: baby, toddler (small child, adult 1, adult 2)
Note that Body Pattern is very stretchy. Measurements are done when the hat lays flat.
baby - hat size 13.3 inches (33.3 cm)
toddler - hat size 14.7 inches (36.7 cm)
small child - hat size 16 inches (40 cm)
adult 1 - hat size 20 inches (50 cm)
adult 2- hat size 22.7inches (56.7 cm)
If you have a different head measurement than what is mentioned, you can modify the cast on stitches by adding or subtracting for a number of stitches that is divisible by 4.
Gauge: 24 sts x 32 rnds = 4 inches / 10 cm stockinette stitch in the round with US 4 - 3.5 mm circular needles or the size of needles to obtain the gauge
Needles
US 4 - 3.5 mm 16 inch (40 cm) circular
US 4 - 3.5 mm DPNs or 32 inch (80 cm) circular for magic loop
Notions
3 makers + 1 marker to mark the beginning of the round, 1 tapestry needle, pompom makers 1.5 inch (baby, toddler size), 2 inch (child small, adult 1 & 2)
Abbreviations:
K – Knit
K1B – Knit One Below - knit through the stitch below
P – Purl
K2tog – Knit two stitches together (1 st decrease)
Ssk – Slip two stitches knitwise one at a time onto the right needle, move them to the left needle and knit two together through the back loop (1 st decrease)
st(s) – Stitch(es)
rep – Repeat
rnd – Round
* – Repeat the instructions between the asterisk
pm / sm / rm – Place marker / Slip marker / Remove marker
