This pattern is a cardigan worked from the top-down with a round yoke. The yoke is worked in garter stitch and the body is worked in a pattern stitch. There are directions for working the sleeves in garter stitch or pattern stitch, whichever you prefer.

The yardage needed for this pattern for the 4 sizes is: 260 (315, 372, 422) yards of sport weight yarn.

The main portion of the sweater is knit flat, while the sleeves are knit in the round. In addition to straight needles, you will need whatever type needles you prefer for knitting in the round: dpn’s, 2 circulars, etc.

I originally published a pattern in a very similar design and called it Sweet Baby Sweater & Hat. That pattern (still available on Ravelry) was only written to fit 0-3 mos and is slightly different from this one in that it has borders and the increases used are different. A number of people said they wished the pattern were available in larger sizes so I have re-worked it and this is the result.
