Pattern Description from Faith, Hope, Love, Knitting: “After so many years of knitting baby sweaters, I’ve developed a very simple template that I ca use for any yarn I stumble upon. I rarely do a gauge swatch (horrors!) because a precise fit is unnecessary for babies - the come in many sizes and always grow! This little sweater is knit in one piece up to the armholes, then divided for the left and right fronts and the back. After joining the shoulders (the only seams), each sleeve is picked up around an armhole and knit down on a circular needle. The design might look a bit challenging at first, but the stitch patterns are all combinations of knit and purl, and the sweater itself requires only a little shaping at the neck and sleeves. The front edgings can be either knit or crocheted. Once you’ve sewn on some cute buttons, the sweater is ready to give away.”

• Heirloom Breeze (30% wool / 69.6% cotton / 0.4% lycra; 104 yd per per 50g skein), one (two, two) skein(s) each color: dark blue #006 or wine #022 (A), sage green #023 or rose #005 (B), light blue #007 or pink #020 (C)
• US #7 (4.5mm) circular needle
• Stitch holders
• Three ¾-inch buttons, JHB International #24041 Little Star or #22476 Muted Leaves
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4 inch in seed st

Notes: Sweater is worked back-and-forth in one piece up to the underarms, then divided and worked separately for fronts and back. Sleeves are worked from the cuff to the shoulder, seamed and inserted into armhole. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches, but all pieces are worked back and forth.
