The sweet bee tapestry is a bottom-up wall hanging inspired by my 4 year old, Sybi, and is (almost) as bright, cheerful, and sweet as she is. The pattern is knitted in one piece, with optional selvedge edges, and optional fringe attached at the end before hanging on a wooden dowel, stick, or similar apparatus. Finished size will vary depending on yarn/needle choice. The samples pictured blocked to 12.5 in/31.75 cm long and 10 in/25.5 cm wide (Loops & Threads), and 11 in/28 cm long and 9 in/23 cm wide (MillaMia) without fringe.

yarn:
Samples knit with Loops & Threads Capri Eco Cotton in yellow EC-11 (a worsted weight yarn) 1 ball, 75 g/131 yds/120 m each, finished sample used approximately 70 g/123 yds/112 m, and MillaMia naturally soft merino 100% virgin wool in butterscotch 168 (a sport weight yarn) 1 ball, 50 g/137 yds/125 m each; finished sample used approximately 40 g/110 yds/100 m. I recommend a natural fiber such as cotton or wool, for blocking purposes, but the weight and brand is really up to you! Keep in mind your choice will affect the finished size. Please estimate at least 130 yds/120 m to allow for differences.

needles:
Choose needles according to yarn weight and bounce. For example, I knit one sample in a very bouncy fine weight yarn, which recommends a US 3/3.25mm and instead opted for a US 8/5mm needle for a more open fabric; I used the same size needle (US 8) for the medium weight cotton yarn pictured, which is more rigid. Straight or circular needles can be used, as long as there is enough room for your stitches.

notions:
Unless you are not including selvedge edge, I recommend 4 stitch markers for use between stitches, tapestry needle for weaving in ends and attaching to hanging apparatus, optional crochet hook to aid in adding fringe.

Gauge: 20 sts & 28 rows = 4 in/10 cm in stockinette, unblocked (17.5 sts & 28 rows blocked). This pattern is not gauge-specific, but I do recommend a quick swatch to make sure you like the look.

Note: the very bottom edge of the sample created with the MillaMia wool is very slightly different from the finished pattern. This was my prototype and a gift for my daughter, so I left it as is, but please see the paler yellow sample for the bottom edge you can expect from the pattern.
