Sweet Blossom Shawl
The Sweet Blossom Shawl is an ode to the beginning of Spring, it is the glimmer of light sprouting from the darkness. Just as the first blossom begins to bloom, the darkness of winter gives way to the fresh new season.
This pattern explores texture using different yarn bases, mosaic knitting and a small amount of lacework. No section is too long, keeping the project a fun and engaging knit!
Yarn: The sample used a total of 730yds / 668m of fingering weight yarn and 269yds / 246m of laceweight yarn.
The sample used:
- 2 x 100g skeins of Stranded Dyeworks Superwash BFL Nylon in the “Patisserie” colourway (400yds / 365m per 100g) (80% BFL, 20% nylon), AND
- 1 x 50g skein of Birdstreet Yarn Cloud in the “Peach” colourway (328yds / 300m per 50g) (74% suri alpaca, 26% silk).
Recommended Needle Size:
* 32” 3.75mm (US Size 4) straight or circular needle, or appropriate size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 18 sts / 28 rows = 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch knitted flat, holding both fingering and laceweight yarns together.
Finished Measurements: One Size - Width: 69” (176cm), Length: 26.5” (68cm)
