Sweet Bluebell Bonnet
Inspired by the gentle bluebell flower, this sweet bonnet will make the wearer look like springtime no matter the time of year! The bonnet has innovative “slip-through” ties that easily fasten without the need for tying a knot or bow around the neck. Different hook sizes are used to easily create a subtle shaping so that the bonnet gently cups the wearer’s face.
The pattern is designed to provide an abundance of support so that even a novice crocheter can make the bonnet. (Note, I have described this pattern as a ‘medium’ difficulty rating due the the less common stitches (front post treble and back post treble) and a slightly more involved pattern.)
The detailed 27-page pattern contains:
- Detailed instructions including instructional photos and ‘handy hints’ for extra support.
- Separate instructions for each of the 5 size options (from 0-3 months to 3-5 years old)
- Bonus stitch tutorial about the special stitches used in the pattern (FPtr, BPtr, working between stitches, and working along the row ends). (Please note, the pattern does not include instructions for working the basic stitches, i.e. tr, ch etc.)
- Detailed instructions for creating a tension/guage swatch, and advice for troubleshooting any potential tension issues.
- A size chart including measurements of completed bonnets.
- A stitch abbreviations chart
- This pattern has been pattern tested to ensure accuracy.
- The pattern includes permission for the maker to personally make and sell limited quantities of the bonnet.
Stitches used to make this pattern: treble stitch, double crochet stitch, chain stitch, slip stitch, front post treble crochet, back post treble crochet.
