This is a simple-to-knit stole which becomes very effective with blocking. I used one skein of Wollmeise Merino Superwash – but any yarn may be substituted.

The stole can be worn “bunched” together in Winter as a warm neck scarf or ideally in Summer as a light, airy shawl.

The pattern takes almost no memorizing – at the most there are only 4-stitch-repeats on the Nupp Border Section. The only counting that is needed is for the Stockinette Diamond in the center (for this I have charted the stitch count for each row). The main pattern is worked exactly the same on RS and WS rows.
Very basic crochet knowledge is required to work single crochets and Picots along the finished edge of the stole.
