This little blanket was inspired by my scarf/shawl pattern, “I Had a Dream.” I was fascinated by how the stitch changes with different yarn and needle size combinations, and I knew it would make a great blanket if I adjusted the needle size. The sample is made from a beautiful polwarth/camel blend, giving it a soft feel and airy texture. It’s such an easy pattern—just repeat two rows until you reach your desired dimensions. The blankie measures 70 cm x 90 cm, perfect for a stroller cover, but it can easily be adjusted to a full-size blanket or other dimensions. I haven’t seen this stitch before, so I’ll claim it for now—though it’s hard to believe new stitches still exist! If you spot it elsewhere, let me know. The sample uses light DK yarn and 4.5 mm needles, but feel free to experiment with different yarns and needle sizes.
